Decorating colours for underglaze-, Majolika- and Fa- yence-techniques
Our range of decorating colours consists of 16 colours, including the colour „colourless transparent“, with the help of which the color-intensity of the single decorating-colours can be reduced. Using the Majolilka- or Fayence-technique one paints on a mostly white, unburnt glaze. The glaze is usually glued with ca. 0,2% glaze-glue CMC 300G and thus more grip- and wipe-stable while painting. The decorating colours melt smoothly and sink into the glaze. A coating with a transparent glaze is not necessary but possible. In the case of underglaze-technique the decorating colour is applied on to the biscuit-fired shard and then coated with a transparent glaze. We recommend glaze A 1001a as transparent glaze. The transparent glaze should be sprayed if possible in order to avoid a slurring of the paint.
The decorating colours have to be prepared with water. They can be used after a quick stir, thus without grinding. Instead of water a 1-2% solution of the glaze-glue CMC 300 G can also be added to the colours which causes the colours to be less liquid and more slur-resistant for furt- her use. A shape-sharp application via sieve-printing, brushing, spraying and stamping is simple and without problems. All decorating colours are based on the same foundation and can be mixed with each other in order to achieve a great amount of mixed colours
